Cameroon Truth Number Four: Opposition Campaigning To Western Audiences As Paul Biya Constructively Engages Cameroonians.

CAMEROON FACT ONE: WHY CAMEROONIANS WILL VOTE PAUL BIYA IN 2025

Once again, the Cameroon opposition has become a world curiosity as concerns presenting their political agenda and programs to the Cameroonians who will vote on October 12th 2025. Instead of talking to the Cameroon electorate based in Cameroon, “the dullest opposition in the world“ according to Jeunne Afrique, is busy granting interviews to foreign media. France 24, TV5 Afrique, RFI, DW just to name a few have seen multiple approaches from Cameroon opposition presidential candidates seeking to grant interviews.

Their campaign teams  are even boasting of political victory when they are granted these interviews in foreign media that the vast majority of Cameroonians don’t even watch or listen to.

On the other hand, President Paul Biya has been engaging Cameroonians on concrete social, cultural, economic, political, national unity, living together, infrastructure development and other aspects of his vision for the country. His emissaries and his representatives have taken this message to all the nooks and crannies of Cameroon. His daily messages of encouragement and orientation are focused on protecting the achievements while steering the country towards a better, more prosperous future. His calls for unity, peaceful co-existence, believe -in-Cameroon, respect for laws and others have resonated strongly with the youths who are adhering in their numbers.

As compared to a confused and usually disoriented opposition class, President Paul Biya is now seen by most Cameroonians as the only one who is talking to them. The foreign media interviews of the opposition have only confirmed their political vacuity and inability to articulate a clear political roadmap for the country.

The negative result of most of these opposition candidates who served decades in President Paul Biya’s government vis-à-vis the Cameroon people is making it hard for them to talk to or face Cameroonians.

How can Issa Chiroma look at Cameroonians in the eyes and tell them he now incarnates change and future development after his over 20 years in government and his numerous change of position and allegiance?  How can Bello Bouba now tell Cameroonians that he will bring development after failing to do so during his over 30 years as minister (including prime minister)? How can Mme NDAM NJOYA now say she incarnates a future Cameroon when her only merit was being the wife of ADAMU NDAM NJOYA and her failure to develop even her own locality where she was mayor? How can AKERE MUNA now tell RFI, FRANCE24 and others that he is the only one who can bring development to Cameroon after failing in all his personal live endeavors, despite everything his father (Solomon tandeng muna) did and left for him? How can CABRAL LIBIH who’s voice and political ambition has been exclusively village-focused arise today and claim to be the political messiah of Cameroon? And the list goes on and on.

No wonder the Cameroon opposition is all over Europe and other parts of the world preaching in the desert. They cannot face the electorate, and they cannot assume their immediate and past failures. They can not face the questions that Cameroonians will ask them. They avoid reality which is failure and prefer to grandstand in foreign media in a failed attempt to deceive Cameroonians.

Even as President PAUL BIYA has remained calm against their foreign-media agitation, his party is fully deployed on the field and his government is serenely accompanying him to complete his current mandate. His base is listening to his daily messages, and his supporters are listening to him not FRANCE24, RFI or TV5. Many Cameroonians are convinced by his sincerity about the achievements and the challenges.

When Cameroonians will massively vote President PAUL BIYA, this October 12th 2025, the same opposition will run back to the foreign media to claim the election was not free and fair. The same opposition instead of accepting that they were campaigning to the wrong audience on foreign media, will claim that President PAUL BIYA used “sardine and bread” to manipulate voters. They will say Cameroon is not democratic but will never say they failed to face and talk to Cameroonians.

Talking to foreign media and trying to tarnish the image of Cameroon before the election only shows and confirms that the opposition has accepted defeat and this will be confirmed on October 12th 2025. /
