President PAUL BIYA and his ruling CPDM PARTY have deployed their virtual (https://www.paulbiya2025.cm) and physical campaign to the delight of Cameroon voters at home and abroad. The president’s political program and manifesto to those who have read it, is a political masterpiece which ties with his campaign slogan “GREATNESS AND HOPE”. There is excitement all over Cameroon as the program is being discovered.
The Cameroon that has been built by the president in the past four decades is clearly a great country by every standard and the future in his vision clearly inspires a lot of hope for an even better and greater country. The security, pro-democracy, pro-decentralization, pro-freedoms, fiscal, pro-women, pro-youths, economic, political, social, cultural, sporting, industrial, regional-integration and all other items in the president’s program/vision will place Cameroon amongst emerging countries far before the end of the upcoming mandate. His experience and incontestable statesmanship will be at the helm of the execution of his campaign promises and Cameroonians are indicating they are willing and ready to accompany him for another seven years.
All the hopes that a few gullible Cameroonians and nefarious foreign interests placed in a confused and program-less opposition are falling like a pack of cards. Prof KAMTO’s rejection for reasons he accepted when he boycotted the election in 2018, his refusal to endorse another opposition candidate (or his endorsement of two candidates), AKERE MUNA’s desisting and joining a BELLO BOUBA who himself is working to join CHIROMA as CABRAL LIBI AND JOSHUA OSIH are ask each other to step down has exposed the opposition’s weakness and lack of political focus. How can a rejected candidate (KAMTO) indirectly endorse two candidates (CHIROMA and BELLO) while AKERE MUNA’s UNIVERS PARTY has refused to accept his dropping from the race.
AKERE MUNA will be a candidate for the UNIVERS PARTY which is still campaigning for him even though he has abandoned their program and joined BELLO BOUA. UNIVERS PARTY is now threatening to take their “future president” to court for abandoning them.
Even the campaign rallies that have been organized by some the of the opposition candidates have failed to pull crowds as the absence of a strong vision for Cameroon has left a bitter taste in the mouths of Cameroonians. Even the foreign media that was opening their doors to the Cameroon opposition figures have realized the poorness of their political offer and no longer even invite them.
Cameroonians are now focused on the President PAUL BIYA program as they prepare to give him a landslide victory this October 12th 2025.
Of particular interest is the enthusiasm that youths who are mostly tech-savvy and ITC knowledgeable are demonstrating as they discover the Presidents numerous and varied presence on social media. Cameroonian youths reading the president’s different tweets or arguing on different items as they read his agenda is now being described as planting the seed of democracy in the next generation. Even on private profiles, it is common to see the president’s campaign image and quotes being used by youths in cities and rural Cameroon.
Now that Cameroonians are focused on discussing their “future” president’s program and manifesto, the confused opposition is not making any reasonable offer. They are waiting to claim after that “the election was not free and fair”. They are waiting to use miniscule incidents that may occur in some rural setting or an isolated incident that can occur in any human endeavor to declare that their victory was stolen. They are waiting to say that the election was a sham and the results were falsified.
Observers of the Cameroon polity during the past four decades are unanimous that the offer that President PAUL BIYA has made can only ensure him a resounding victory especially faced with an opposition that is still looking for a consensus candidate with no agenda. /-
