As Cameroonians constitutional council announced that Paul BIYA had won the October 12th, 2025, the doomsayers and political charlatans who predicted an apocalypse if their candidate was not declared winner have once again been put to shame. In a country of over 30 million inhabitants, over eight million registered voters and over four million effective voters, manipulating A few gullible youths to burn a few tires and throw stones at the forces of law and order was all they could do to realize their nefarious agenda. Those who wanted to destroy Cameroon have failed.
The results that were announced have clearly reflected the will of the people and many now understand why one candidate was hurrying to fake results. ISSA CHIROMA Knew he did not win the election and as a classical “sore looser” he resorted to calls for violence and publication of fake “proces verbales”. Of all the 12 candidates, ISSA CHIROMA is the only one who decided to disregard the process, bypass the institutions and auto declare himself winner to the dismay of voters and observers. He multiplied statements in an attempt to discredit the process which he so fervently defended in the past.
Now that the election is over and some candidates are already congratulating the winner-PRESIDENT PAUL BIYA-it is time for all Cameroonians to accept the offer of peace made by the winner. When he says he is the president of all Cameroonians and is willing to work with all for a peaceful and prosperous Cameroon, the majority of Cameroonians believe him. The millions of voters who voted for the president know that the future of the country is in sure hands.
Manipulating a few youths to provoke law enforcement officers while paying and encouraging others to burn properties or loot stores is a crime in any country and ISSA CHIROMA knows that very well. Falsifying results and publishing fake voter bulletins is a crime that too he knows and understands very well. Defying the government to come and arrest him if they can, can not be tolerated in any country, this too he knows very well. Creating a militia to “protect” you after breaking the law is a crime that can not be tolerated in any country. Sending your supporters to attack banks is a serious crime that ISSA CHIROMA can not claim he does not know. State tolerance during elections should not be taken for granted.
Now that PAUL BIYA, official winner of the election, in his legendary magnanimity has made a peace offer to all actors of the election including ISSA CHIROMA and Cameroonians did not vote for him, everyone including sore losers should take advantage. This is the time for all to actively seek peace and concord. Now is the time to take a deep breath and think Cameroon. Now is the time to contain exaggerated political egos and electoral grandstanding. The election is over and Cameroon must continue. Protecting Cameroon’s peace is now a duty for all.
Fortunately, the vast majority of Cameroonians have declared their adherence to the president’s call for appeasement. Over 99% of Cameroonians have adhered to peace and their actions say it loudly. The millions that were announced on Cameroon streets have not come out. The hundreds of thousands that were announced to block and paralyze the country have not been seen anywhere. The fear that haters of Cameroon tried to instill and spread in the population has not succeeded.
Cameroonians want peace and that is what president PAUL BIYA is offering them. Calls for violence and insurrection have been rejected and the days ahead will see more and more compatriots accept the peace offer of the president elect. Youths movements are starting to emerge calling for non-violence and this will grow in the days to come.
Now, one can echo president elect PAUL BIYA’s congratulation to all the participants in the electoral process which has come to an end while calling on doubters to join the peace wagon for a new strong, peaceful and prosperous country. Cameroon and Cameroonians are the winners of this election and no one should spoil this.
There is no place for unrest in Cameroon. Cameroonians have work to do with their new president and they want peace to do it.
BRAVO CAMEROONIANS, YOU WON….
