As Cameroonians serenely await the October 12th presidential election, Paul Biya is about to enter the annals of history as a leader who organized some of the most peaceful elections in Africa and even around the world. Just see how many die in other African countries before, during and after elections and you will understand why Cameroonians have since 1982 maintained their destiny in the hands of Paul Biya.
Even at his ripe age, just see how the different components of the country have been flocking to the presidency to assure him not only of their support, but of their involvement in making sure another peaceful election will take place. The world has seen political parties, traditional rulers, youths, civil society organizations, religious leaders and even foreign diplomats flock to the presidency to pledge their support for a peaceful election come October 12th 2025.
The prophets of doom and the crystal ball readers who forecasted the end of Cameroon if some candidates were not selected for the election have been ridiculed by the maturity of Cameroonians. All their calls for insurrection and rebellion have failed as Cameroonians await the vote serenely. Once again there will be one-less election-war in Africa because of Pal Biya’s maestro.
No one came out to defy the authorities and no one took to the streets as demanded. There has been no damage of property and no deaths. This clearly shows that Cameroonians have heeded to Paul Biya’s call for peace and stability.
The youths of Cameroon refused to come out to destroy their country and followed President Paul Biya when he said “To do politics is, first and foremost, to serve one’s country. To serve one’s country well is to seek the well-being of one’s people. To seek the well-being of the people is to refuse to jeopardize their future.And, the future of a people lies with its youth”. The youths of Cameroon have decided that a peaceful future is better than an adventure with politicians who want at least fifty of them to die for them to take power.
The true color of this irresponsible opposition has been demonstrated by their division, lack of a vision for the country and egoistic personalities which can not guarantee the peace of a vital country like Cameroon. They have already been rejected by the people, especially the youths they tried to manipulate.
BIYA now equals peaceful elections and the world will only be a happier place for that..
