Cameroon Truth Twenty: Paul Biya The Economic Patriot Starts New Mandate With Historic Re-Nationalizations

Cameroonians at home and abroad shouted with joy when the news of the government takeover of the National Electricity Company (ENEO) and the National Cotton Development Company (SODECOTON) came out of YAOUNDE. This good news, coming after a few months of the government taking over the entire control of the Douala seaport operations and CAMAIRCO starting flights to Paris in the days ahead, has pushed millions of Cameroonians to thank PRESIDENT PAUL BIYA for his wisdom and economic patriotism.

When Paul BIYA said this mandate will be different, this is what he meant. Cameroon, in all sovereignty taking control of and Cameroonians enjoying the social benefits of the country’s riches without any foreign interference.

The mining sector, the transport sector, the energy sector, social housing, roads, hospitals and schools just to name a few will never be the same again. Strong measures that will involve the Cameroon people in all projects related to their lives are already being put in place by President PAUL BIYA.

Structurally and institutionally, Cameroon is now a vast construction site as President BIYA kicks start this mandate of hope and great expectations. The solidity of the institutions will be reinforced and infrastructure development at a level that has never been seen before since independence. Cameroonians of all walks of life have been contributing ideas and making proposals and President BIYA in his legendary wisdom is listening. The days ahead are pregnant with hope and the fruits will be abundant.

That the country has remained stable before, during and after the presidential election and is even organizing a regional election this year is an exploit who’s sole architect is PRESIDENT PAUL BIYA.  Political elections known to destabilize even old democracies have not stopped Cameroon. The economy is booming as strategic companies are being brought back “home”.

Electricity production, transportation and distribution will improve significantly, impacting all sectors of the economy. That this important economic necessity was in the hands of foreigners is now a thing of the past thanks to PRESIDENT PAUL BIYA. Anyone still doubting this seven-year mandate being different from the others should look at the strong beginning of this new mandate.

Imports and exports are booming, hitherto dying Agric sectors like cocoa and coffee are coming back with local transformation taking the lead. Companies like the CDC which faced crisis have seen their debt paid by the government under the direct instruction of PRESIDENT PAUL BIYA.

The social insurance fund which is now 100% Cameroon owned has attained the highest level of payments since its creation with most retired persons now receiving their monthly payments. The Fund is now even investing in other sectors.

As Cameroonians accompany president PAUL BIYA in this new reconstruction and emergence mandate, those who try to destabilize the country will only have themselves to blame. The economy of the country is now the priority of all Cameroonians and anyone who stands on their way will understand the meaning of sovereignty.

Cameroonians were correct to have selected President PAUL BIYA last October, despite all the negative attacks…..
